In an area that was mostly built directly after the Second Worls War, the Rossiya Hotel is surrounded by impressive Stalinist architecture and, although a good few kilometers away from the city center, has good transport links and is very conveniently located for visiting the Imperial Parks and Palaces at Pushkin and Pavlovsk.

The Rossiya is very conveniently located for the city's Pulkovo-1 and Pulkovo-2 airports, which are both less than 20 minutes away by taxi. The trip takes only slightly longer by bus. The city's mainline stations are all between 30 and 40 minutes' drive from the hotel.

The hotel is only five minutes' walk from Park Pobedy Metro Station. Trains run directly from here to Nevsky Prospekt, the heart of historic St. Petersburg. The journey takes less than 20 minutes. There are also buses that run up Moskovsky Prospekt to the centre, although traffic can be very heavy.
Local sightseeing
Park Pobedy (Victory Park) is a large park, always bustling with activity, which was created in the mid-1940s around a central war memorial. The park contains statues, carousels (merry-go-rounds), outdoor cafes and several small lakes, where you can hire boats in summer and do some ice-skating during the winter.

The Sport and Concert Complex (SKK) is the largest indoor stadium in St. Petersburg and hosts international sporting events, trade fairs and concerts throughout the year.

Not far from the hotel, guests will find the delightfully cake-like Chesma Church, a small Russian Orthodox chapel built in a mix of Oriental and Gothic styles and commemorated to the Russian Navy's victory over the Turkish Navy at Chesma. The church was designed by the architect Yuri Fleten and built between 1777 and 1780. The church recently reopened its doors to the public and now hosts regular Russian Orthodox services.

Moskovskiye Vorota (Moscow Triumphal Gate) is a 19th century war memorial built by the architect Vasily Stasov between 1834 and 1938. This impressive structure, located in the middle of a large square and adjacent to the metro station of the same name, is built of cast iron and is hollow on the inside.

The Rossiya is also on the road which leads to the magnificent Imperial parks and palaces in the towns of Pushkin and Pavlovsk. Buses can be caught near the hotel, and the drive to either takes a little over 20 minutes.
