The Russ Hotel combines an excellent downtown location with rock bottom - by Petersburg standards - prices. It could be one of the least attractive buildings in the city from the outside, but once you get through the doors it has a certain kitsch appeal. The Russ has a full range of rooms, from simple singles to three-room suites, and all have good technical amenities, even if the furniture in many is rather dated. Unlike other budget options in the St. Petersburg, the Hotel Rus also has a comprehensive range of guests facilities, including a conference hall and meeting room, a health and beauty center, sauna, restaurant bureau de change, etc. Location, however, is the real selling point for the Russ. The hotel stands on a quiet side street just a few blocks away from Nevsky Prospekt, and offers excellent access to Saint Petersburg's main attractions, with the beautiful Fontanka River, Peter the Great's Summer Gardens, and the Engineer's Castle all within ten minutes' walk. There is also a metro station five minutes from the hotel.
